Kees Kelfkens (1919 – 1986)

The poster "Geef een boek" (Give a book) which graphic designer Kees Kelfkens designed for the Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (CPNB) has a fine place in the Cat Cabinet. This poster was the picture for the Book Week campaign of CPNB in 1958.

Kees Kelfkens, full name Cornelis Johannes Kelfkens, was born in Utrecht and was a graphic designer and illustrator of many book covers. He made many for Privé-Domein, a department of De Arbeiderspers (a well-known Dutch publishing company).

The design for the book "Eight Stories and Fairytales of Anne Frank" was also made by Kelfkens. His illustrations in the book accompany the stories of Anne Frank during her stay in the Achterhuis. A unique publication from 1949.
